Job Description
Position Summary:
A respected and well-established welding shop in St. Louis is currently seeking a skilled Drill Press Machine Operator to join our team. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with hands-on experience in a machine shop environment. Candidates should be comfortable working from blueprints and laying out precision projects with a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a drill press with accuracy, efficiency, and consistency
Read and interpret blueprints and technical project layouts
Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
Maintain high standards of quality and adhere to safety protocols at all times
Perform basic layout and setup of parts before drilling
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a machine shop or similar environment
Strong ability to read and work from blueprints and detailed layouts
Familiarity with additional shop equipment (e.g., bandsaws, grinders, lathes) is a plus
Ownership of basic hand tools is helpful but not required
