Job Title: Technical Project Manager

Pay Rate: $40–45/hour

Start Date: August 4, 2025

Duration: 6-month contract

Location: Irvine, CA (Remote optional within continental U.S.)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the orchestration of design activities for a major mobile app redesign. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end planning and delivery of UX/UI workstreams, ensuring effective collaboration across design, product, and engineering. The position can be fully remote or hybrid based on the Irvine, CA location (Tues–Thurs onsite for hybrid), and is key to aligning creative output with strategic business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Project Management

• Manage the full project schedule including design tasks, deliverables, and cross-functional hand-offs
• Oversee capacity planning and balance resource allocation across design contributors
• Identify and mitigate risks related to schedule, workload, and quality
• Establish and manage design review checkpoints and approval workflows

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as liaison between design and key stakeholders in product, engineering, marketing, and leadership
• Participate in roadmap and PI planning to ensure design work is prioritized appropriately
• Represent the design team in stakeholder meetings and reviews

Agile & Workflow Operations

• Facilitate design-specific stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and design reviews
• Ensure design efforts are properly documented and integrated into Jira and sprint cycles
• Translate stakeholder requirements into actionable design user stories

UX, UI, & Design Systems Support

• Support research and testing activities in collaboration with UX and research leads
• Advocate for design quality and consistency across platforms and systems
• Manage delivery of design assets via tools like Figma and ZeroHeight
• Ensure governance and adherence to design system standards

Communication & Governance

• Maintain project documentation, meeting notes, and stakeholder updates
• Track deliverables and hold team members accountable to timelines
• Help define and implement design operations best practices

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in digital project or program management
• Minimum of 3 years supporting UX/UI or digital product design teams
• Proficient in Jira, Confluence, Figma, and ZeroHeight
• Strong understanding of both agile and waterfall methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-track design projects from concept through delivery
• Solid grasp of the design lifecycle, including research, interaction and visual design, and design systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing large-scale app or platform redesigns
• Familiarity with design tokens, handoff processes, and product design tooling
• Background in consumer-facing digital products or customer-centric platforms
