  • Conduct analyses and prepare reports with tabulations and graphical representations using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex methods.
  • Present results in written and verbal form to requestors.
  • Perform complex programming such as data transposition and macros. Combine and link multiple data sources to STS datasets and derive analysis variables accurately.

Statistical Programming:
  • Develop, validate, and maintain SAS programs for STS Database harvest analytics, reporting, and visualization.
  • Leverage SAS Macros and SQL for data transformation and analytic automation.
  • Optimize existing SAS programs for performance and alignment with healthcare data standards.
  • Implement multi-level, mixed-effects, and Bayesian statistical models using SAS procedures.
  • Design and execute quality control metrics to validate statistical output.
  • Generate high-quality tables, listings, and figures from statistical analyses for clinical or operational healthcare reports.
  • Document processes and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory guidelines.
Data Management:
  • Utilize multiple sub-specialty research databases to derive analytical datasets for STS Research Center activities and programs.
  • Participate, along with other members of the STS Analytics team, in specification upgrades of each of the STS National Database component registries. Ensure that the required analytics changes (e.g., modification of code, input dataset preparation and recoding, and content of output reports) are appropriately tested and implemented.
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation.
Data Quality and Validation:
  • Develop and implement data quality checks to confirm accuracy and completeness of analytic datasets (pre-analysis).
  • Generate quality checks on reports to confirm accuracy and completeness of aggregated results.
  • Ensure that data quality activities are defined and implemented.
Other:
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the component registries of the STS National Database, data fields, and data specifications across multiple database versions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
