Responsible for successful implementation of the Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) Funded Economic Justice Program, completing all required reports, and compiling monthly reports that track the number of survivors receiving services, and the type of services. The Advocate will provide direct services to survivors seeking economic sustainability. Additionally, providing Quigley House clients with support services, including safety planning, crisis intervention and assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual violence in obtaining services from the legal and judicial system as well as from social service agencies.
1. Developing and implementing an economic justice program to include components such as:
- Economic Justice curricula adaptation and delivery
- Financial literacy
- Economic advocacy
- Earned Income Tax Credits awareness
- Microloans, micro enterprises, or matched savings/Individual Developmental accounts programs
2. Assisting survivors of domestic violence with identifying and securing affordable housing.
3. Assisting survivors of domestic violence with identifying and attaining their employment goals.
4. Collaborating with community agencies including, but not limited to: local literacy programs, career centers, Job Links, Dress for Success programs and local libraries.
5. Conducting extensive outreach in the community so that in addition to survivors gaining economic justice services via center services they are already receiving, survivors will be connected with local literacy programs, GED programs, English as a Second Language programs and other identified referral sources.
6. Participating in program evaluation of the project.
7. Participating in sponsored events, trainings, technical assistance, learning exchanges, conference calls and webinars.
8. Every staff member is responsible to do the following:

10. Assume other duties as assigned by the Shelter and Advocacy Coordinator and/or Director of Domestic Violence Services.
Job Requirements: BA in human services field with experience in crisis intervention and working with victims of domestic violence preferred. AA or equivalent considered with at least two years applicable experiences. HS diploma or GED considered with at least four years applicable experience preferably working in a certified domestic violence center.
