MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

One year of food service experience or training in an institutional, hospital, military, or commercial food service operation; OR Twelve semester hours in food and nutrition, dietetics, or institutional management. Job Specification Function of Work: To prepare and cook food; to serve meals; and to supervise student offenders engaged in cleaning activities in a food service operation at a juvenile correctional institution. Level of Work: Experienced. Supervision Received: General from Juvenile Corrections Food Production Supervisor. Supervision Exercised: Direct line over student offenders engaged in cleaning activities. Location of Work: Department of Corrections and Public Safety; Juvenile Correctional Institutions. Job Distinctions: Differs from Corrections Juvenile Food Production Supervisor in that supervisory responsibility is exercised over a group of student offenders. Corrections Juvenile Food Production Supervisors supervise a group of Corrections Juvenile Food Production Workers. Job Duties and Other Information Receives menu. Prepares and cooks food. Supervises student offenders on the serving line, regulating quantity of serving sizes. Directs student offenders engaged in cleaning the kitchen and dining areas, or in washing dishes, pots, and pans. Maintains security regulations in the food production areas.
