Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our growing Data & Analytics team. Business Intelligence Analyst Position Summary The Business Intelligence Analyst supports operations and will gather, analyze, and compile data needed to identify trends and patterns, then make recommendations to management for business actions.
Business Intelligence Analyst Essential Duties And Responsibilities Data Analysis & Reporting - Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from project management tools, ERP systems, and field operations to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI that track KPIs, such as job cost performance, labor productivity, schedule adherence, and project profitability.
- Translate complex data into clear insights for project managers, field teams, and senior leadership to support operational and strategic decisions.
Business Partnering - Collaborate with teams across Field Operations, Project Management, Finance, Estimating, and Procurement to understand data needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including jobsite teams and executives.
Data Modeling, Integration & Optimization - Design and maintain scalable data models and ETL processes that consolidate information from field reports, financial systems, scheduling tools, and external sources.
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs to connect to internal and third-party data sources.
- Optimize data pipelines, API performance, and database queries to ensure efficient access to accurate, real-time data across the organization.
Performance Monitoring - Monitor key performance metrics across projects and business functions, identifying areas for improvement or early signs of risk.
- Support analysis of business initiatives such as technology rollouts, operational changes, or safety programs through structured experiments and data evaluation.
Tool & Process Development - Build and support internal tools that empower business users to self-serve data and insights.
- Contribute to the development of BI standards, documentation, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy protocols, particularly for sensitive operational and job site data.
Business Intelligence Analyst Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in data science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Construction Management, or a related field (master’s preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in a business intelligence, data analysis, or data integration role—ideally within or supporting construction or industrial services.
- Proficiency in Power BI.
- Strong SQL skills; experience with Python (preferred) or R.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs or working with API-based data integrations.
- Familiarity with construction and ERP platforms is a plus (e.g., Viewpoint Spectrum, Procore, Primavera P6).
- Understanding of construction project lifecycles, job costing, cost codes, and schedule tracking is a plus.
- Knowledge of API authentication methods (e.g., OAuth, API keys) and data formats (JSON, XML).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly to project teams, field staff, and executives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset.
Business Intelligence Analyst Physical Demands Must be able to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time. May be required to lift 20 pounds occasionally. All the physical demands listed are essential functions.
