2nd Shift - varying shift times usually between 12 p.m. - 1 a.m.

Pay will be determined based on candidate's overall experience and skill set.

Rogers Group Inc. is seeking to fill a varying 2nd shift (noon - 1am) experienced Diesel Mechanic position, for our Construction business in Knoxville, TN and the surrounding East TN areas. CDL license is preferred however, DOT Medical Card holder would be considered, with adequate experience. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but not limited to:

Responsibilities:
  • Routine Vehicle/ Equipment Maintenance
  • Inspecting and diagnosing issues with diesel engines
  • Reading and interpreting diagnostic test results
  • Performing routine maintenance work such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
  • Repairing or replacing malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Testing the functionality of repaired machines
  • Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and engines for damage and wear
  • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
  • Ordering and sourcing parts as required
  • Operating Equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Required Skills:
  • Must have a dedication to safe work practices
  • Previous diesel maintenance experience
  • CDL Driver's License preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform repairs as needed
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and a varying 12pm - 1am shift
  • Must be willing to work outside in a variety of conditions
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen

  • Working knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations
  • Diesel engine maintenance and utility experience
